Ensuring Responsible AI Through Methodological Diversity

// Overview

The Brief

RAI asked Video Production Edinburgh to document and capture this one-day event at The University of Edinburgh and produce a compelling highlights video.

  • Objectives: Create a video that would stimulate the interest of prospective PhD students to join this series of workshops within the fellowship programme
  • Audience: Prospect students, sponsors
  • Challenge: Capture the key moments of the event and interviews on a tight schedule

The Approach

We deployed two staff to capture the talks, the b-rolls and the interviews. The production included:

  • Creative Strategy and Pre-production: We liaised with the client and their team to be perfectly prepared and fit within their challenging schedule
  • Filming: With a mix of high-end interviews, action shots and b-rolls, our team operated within the very tight schedule and different locations within the building, being as discreet as possible to not interfere with the flow of the event
  • Post-Production: We produced one 4 minutes-long highlights video complemented with subtitles.

The Outcome

The video we delivered has been used on the client’s website, social media, and partners’ website to promote their activities and academic programme.

“As a research project at the University of Edinburgh, we have worked with
Paolo and the team at VPE for a few years now. The team has helped us document a number of
key project initiatives, including an exhibition as part of the Edinburgh Art Festival, a large
community conference in Manchester, and smaller events. They have created outputs for social
media and our website, pulling together session recordings, vox pops, longer form interviews,
candid informal interactions and arial footage to create engaging videos. As well as being
incredibly professional, accommodating of our requirements and creative in their approach, the
team members are really personable and an absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you Paolo and
team!”
