The Nth Wave Exhibition Video Production for The University of Edinburgh

// Overview

The Brief

The Nth Wave is a solo exhibition by Theodore Koterwas, which is part of a series of solo exhibitions held at InSpace, Edinburgh. We have been asked to produce a series of videos to promote and document this exhibition, including one dedicated video for each artist, as well as various promotional videos of the overall exhibition.

  • Objectives: Produce a series of videos that showcases different artists exhibition and practices within a wider exhibition programme
  • Audience: Academics, sponsors, general public
  • Challenge: Document each individual artist practice making it unique

The Approach

We approached each individual artist video making sure their unique practice was properly documented, while at the same time emphasising the collective nature of the exhibition. The production included:

  • Creative Strategy and Pre-production: Working with the client as well as the individual artists, we followed a narrative strategy that met the client’s requirement as well as each artist’s ones.
  • Filming: For the filming we decided to capture a mix of talking heads talking about their practice and compelling visuals that paid the appropriate tribute to the richness of their work
  • Post-Production: We delivered five individual artist videos, one exhibition video and three promotional videos

The Outcome

The videos we delivered have been used on the client’s website and social media, as well as shown at meetings and presentations.
